Body Feels EXIT

Namie’s TRUE debut single. This came after her first project flopped.

1. Body Feels EXIT
I got a pretty strong 80s pop vibe the first time I listened to this song. I’m pretty sure that if there were more of those trumpet sounds and drummish synths you hear in American 80s pop…This would be a much stronger single on my end. As it is, this song was rather ground-breaking back in the day. This style wasn’t something you saw in Japanese music until gals like Namie and Ayumi broke onto the scene. Anyway, I’m glad Namie didn’t add anything else to this. The arrangement is already kind of crazy. It comes at you with all different kinds of sounds. It’s almost like Namie’s voice is an angelic respite from some kind of war zone. But it’s cool, in its own 1990s J-Pop way, and definitely a solid start to Namie’s career. Her Engrish…it amuses. “Body feels egg u sit!”
Indigo song, oh yes. Purple and navy = Indigo for all you not-art-majors out there.

2. Body Feels EXIT (X-Tended Mix)
Just couldn’t have enough of this song, could they. We get an extended version. The added elements are piano and more prominent trumpet synths [gasp! more 80s touches!]. And of course, you get the same song with a big intro and longer interludes between choruses. Go with the single mix, unless you’re a fan of those extended mixes for some reason…
This one’s more along the purple side ’cause of that awesome piano BG noise.

3. Body Feels EXIT (FKB MIX)
Finally, something even MORE along my tastes! We get a nice House-sounding remix that gives the song a more tolerable beat. There’s less going on, and it has an easier flow to it to where Namie’s voice isn’t so in-your-face. The only downfall of this song is the sometimes dragged out instrumental parts, but that won’t be a problem if you’re hopping to it in a club. Or in your bedroom at night…Oh gosh, Namie’s echoey voice is giving me chills! Just makes it better that you can hear her male accompanist better, too.
A bright sky blue song, oh yes.

4. Body Feels EXIT (Original Karaoke)
The instrumental lacks Namie’s voice, but keeps the trolololy male BG vocalist. He sounds like he’s singing through his pinched nose. It’s funny, but then again, no one sane listens to instrumentals.
